Svetlana. A field trip to Tumwater Falls Park. My goal was to capture water, its power. SoI didn't want to have it frozen, I tried to make it look as blurry as possible. Fortunately, it was cloudy, and low light allowed me to use slow shutter speed as  1/3 or 1/5 with  aperture f/22 and low ISO. Besides I was looking for places where I could capture some other colors to contrast to light color of the water.  I saw a beautiful dog in the park. She turned out to be a great model. The aperture was f/11. shutter speed 1/15.

  1. Your greens look really surprisingly green, as do Mary's. Did you use white balance as well?

  2. I like the way that the 5th one down--the close cropped one of the lower falls--empasizes the scooped-out shapes on the rocks. That really shows up when you zoom in on one small spot like that.

The arch of the bridge is nice, as is the green.

And I would not have noticed or thought of doing what you did in the third one. Was that at the very top of the falls? Showing the stillness of the water above and the action of the water as it drops over the edge.

  3. I especially like the 4th photo for its clarity and simplicity and composition. Nice job blurring and portraying the force and turbulence of the flowing water too.
